Diamond Heights Townhome

Working within the existing skin of this 1970s townhouse, textured walls, shag carpet, vinyl flooring, and non-structural walls were removed to open up, modernize, and brighten this home. The remodel expanded the formerly tight kitchen, and connected it to a newly landscaped backyard and adjacent dining room. A new island separates guests from cooks, and a classic wetbar opposite ensures guests stay on their side. New wood floors, bright white walls, and a slate tile-clad fireplace modernize living spaces while keeping them warm. Sink cabinets in the bathrooms were “floated” off the floor to help make these spaces feel larger. V-groove boards on the master bedroom walls hide the closets and create a textured backdrop for the new master fireplace. Solar panels and an electric car outlet make it ready for the future.
